The BetQL model really loved Navy this weekend in many different ways. It had best bets on both the full game spread of the game and the 1H spread, leading to ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ star bets, respectively. Navy is in the midst of a terrible season at 1-6 now on the year, and the Bearcats are ranked #2 nationally as one of the best teams in the country. Yet still, the model loved the Midshipmen to cover this game all the way through, and give Cincy everything it could handle.
Well, once again, the model has outdone itself. The 1H spread was Navy +17, and the score at halftime was 13-10 Cincinnati. One of the easiest covers anyone will have all year, and we love a no sweat bet around here, especially one that was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ wager. Navy even had the lead at one point, 10-7, because the Bearcats really struggled to find the end zone in the first half of the game.
The full game spread was Navy +28.5, and as you can imagine, this was also an incredibly easy cover. Is it possible that the sportsbooks just lined this game completely wrong? I mean, these numbers aren't even in the stratosphere of where the game ended at. A 27-20 Bearcat victory covered the spread by three TDs.
We have all seen this story before a million times. Navy is just Ione of those teams that always has the other team on upset alert because of their style of play. They don't make it easy on anyone, and their triple-option offense is one that many players have never played against before, giving them a huge advantage right out of the gates in the game.
Navy could have easily upset Cincinnati Saturday, and had plenty of chances to do so. They only trailed by three at the half, and they scored the last 10 points of the game in a valiant effort to make a comeback. It came up short, and dropped the team to 1-6 on the year.
According to BetQL data, Navy is 4-3 ATS this season, which is worse than usual, but still pretty good.
The Bearcats continue their rampage across the college football landscape, looking to be the first AAC team to ever make the college football playoff. I get Navy is always a tough out, but they will have to play much better if they want to stay undefeated.
