Heading into last week, Minnesota had a decent test against a solid defense at home when they faced Rutgers, but absolutely dominated them from start to finish as superstar running back Mohamed Ibrahim took 36 carries for 159 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 31-0 shutout. Meanwhile, Nebraska delivered a dud at Illinois, where they fell 26-9. The Golden Gophers have gone 5-3 ATS while the Cornhuskers have gone just 2-6 ATS this season.
Auburn has gone 3-5 SU, 2-6 ATS, just got embarrassed by Arkansas on their home field (41-27) and just fired head coach Bryan Harsin after two bad seasons. Mississippi State has gone 4-3 ATS and is coming off a bye week, but beat that same Arkansas team 40-17 back on October 8th. It’ll be interesting to keep an eye on what this line does over the course of the week because we have seen some teams implode and other teams thrive when their head coach is let go during the season.
USC escaped with a 45-37 win at Arizona on Saturday, but Cal continued its weekly descent, falling 42-24 at home to a solid Oregon squad. In previous weeks, California lost 28-21 to Washington at home, had to go to overtime to beat a terrible Colorado team and then got thoroughly outplayed by the ranked Ducks. The Trojans should thrive in this matchup and have gone 5-3 ATS, but their opponents have gone 4-4 ATS. Keep that in mind as odds move throughout the week and be careful about what number you get if you bet this one.
