One thing we can count on from Kentucky is that they will keep the ball moving and they love to dictate the pace of play in their games. They don't have an explosive offense like Tennessee or an incredible defense like Georgia, but they just do their own thing. It seems to be working, as they have emerged in the SEC as more than a basketball school. They don't have the recruits of an Alabama or LSU, but they are a smart team that likes to dominate the clock.
Last week, they beat up on the Ohio University Red Hawks in a 37-13 smashing victory. Many would think that it was an easy opponent, but you would be wrong. I really like Ohio this year in the MAC, and I think they could win their conference championship. They aren't as good as an SEC team, but they have an offense that scores points in bunches, and the Wildcats held them to 13.
The defense is just that good. They are very good against the run, and that is exactly what they will do against Florida. Kentucky will make Gators QB Anthony Richardson throw it on them instead of allowing him to take off, and the ferocious pass rush should get there a few times. The offense is led by QB Will Levis, who is coming off a 303-yard performance. He should find some success against a Florida secondary that struggled late against Utah last week.

Florida lucks out in this one that Wildcats starting RB Chris Rodriguez is still out of the mix. With him out, Kentucky struggled mightily to get anything going on the ground against the Redhawk's defensive front. Just imagine how bad it might be against the Gators, who should be able to bottle up Kavosiey Smoke and the UK running game. The offensive line also had some issues against Ohio University, and Kentucky isn't any better on offense than Utah was last week.
Even with the great run defense of the Wildcats, it will be a challenge to contain Richardson when he wants to get out of the pocket. Utah has a stellar run defense, and they allowed 283 yards and over seven yards per carry against this Florida team. Head coach Billy Napier loves to spread things out in his offense, and that makes for a huge challenge with all of this talent Kentucky will have to stop when Florida drops back to pass.
This will be a tough game for Kentucky to control the pace, but if anyone can do it, they can.

Florida vs. Kentucky is always an interesting matchup that is bound for a great finish. The Wildcats won this game last year at home, just their second win in the series since 1986, but they're 2-2 over the last four years. For all the great plays that the Florida offense made against the Utes last week, they only won that game because Utah QB Cameron Rising decided to give it away on a platter.
The defense should be able to do enough to get the job done for Florida in the end again, but this will be a very close game in my opinion. Kentucky has just one win in Gainesville since 1979, and I don't think that changes. Still, Kentucky is getting a bit too may points here. I'll take the key number of 6 with the Wildcats in what I think will be a game that could come down to the wire again in Florida.
