The Vols managed to get the upset win and storm the field, and the fans decided to steal the goal post and throw it into the Tennessee river. There's nothing like college football, truly.

Sometimes games like these get overlooked by a lot of people because no one cares about what happens, so the lines can be a little wonky, and that is something our model loves to take advantage of. It's no question that Fresno State has been a massive disappointment this season, coming into this game with a 1-4 record, but to be underdogs at home to San Jose State? No thank you, and we recognized that right away.

This number was just crazy, getting the Bulldogs at +230 on the moneyline against an overrated San Jose team. We made our number, and we couldn't come close to this. In fact, we had Fresno State as a -111 favorite on the moneyline, so this was a massive difference between our number and the line at sportsbooks. When the difference is that big, that immediately triggers a 5-star bet on the play.

There was just too much value here to pass up, and we had the spread of this game at +7 as a 5-star bet as well of course. The thought here was that at some point, the Bulldogs had to play better given the talent level on the team. Yes, San Jose was 4-1 coming into the game, but these rivalry games usually tend to be close. The home team will have a distinctive advantage, and we all know the type of environment college football games can bring to the table.

Not only that, but the Spartans struggle mightily against teams that can actually pass the ball. Head coach Brent Brennan is 2 - 11 SU vs. excellent passing teams averaging 275 or more passing yards/game while coaching San Jose State, so his teams always struggle against teams just like Fresno State.
