Saturday’s loss to Kansas was about as bad as it gets for Baylor. The Bears blew a 17-point first-half lead and lost by 16 after being outscored 55-26 in the second half. They never should have let that happen, but Kansas also hardly missed in the final 20 minutes. Tonight’s game against Kansas State presents a nice bounce-back opportunity for the Bears. They lost to the Wildcats in overtime earlier this year, so there is going to be a little added motivation to get the job done tonight. Plus, Baylor’s offense is one of the best in the country and for as good as K-State's defense is, it struggles in two key areas: the Wildcats aren’t great at keeping teams off the offense boards or the free-throw line. Both are areas where Baylor excels, which is why I’ll take them to cover on the road tonight.
This line is beyond suspicious to me. No. 13 Miami at 22-5 overall and 13-4 in the ACC is a two-point 'dog at unranked Virginia Tech (16-11, 6-10)? Not only that, but the line has moved to VT -2.5 in some places with all the money coming in on the Hokies. Miami also beat VT by nine late last month. I don't get it, but Miami is looking like a trap today. Avoid it and go with VT -2 or on the moneyline.
Tennessee has lost four of its last six games and has only covered once in that stretch. Meanwhile, Texas A&M has won five straight, covering in all five of those. Texas A&M is also 18-9 ATS this season, including 10-4 at home, while Tennessee is only 14-13 ATS overall and 5-8 on the road. I like Texas A&M to cover this spread at home tonight against Tennessee.
I was able to snag Villanova at +6 last night on BetRivers, but I still think there is some value at +4.5. This is an excellent buy-low spot on the Wildcats, and we have already seen this number take a nosedive to where it stands now, indicating the amount of money that’s being poured into them. I think they can win, but I took the points.
