DePaul is coming into Providence feeling all fat and sassy after knocking off Xavier, handing the top team in the Big East its first conference loss. But that game was in Chicago and Chicago isn’t Providence. The Friars have lost their last two road games and are finally back at home where they are undefeated and will be looking for a bounce-back win. The Friars defense, ranked 22nd on KenPom, should be able to overwhelm DePaul’s offense. I expect Providence to absolutely dominate on the boards because the Friars rank sixth in offensive rebound percentage, while DePaul is ranked 321st in keeping teams off the offensive glass. Providence is also a top-10 team at getting to the free-throw line and, you guessed it, DePaul is terrible at keeping teams off the line. This should be an easy, double-digit win for the home team.
I admit that I’m a sucker for undefeated trends, but this one is too significant to overlook: Bradley has gone 9-0 ATS at home this season and has posted an average plus/minus of +15.1 points in that setting. While Belmont took down Bradley, 63-60, earlier this season, this will be the Braves’ chance to even the series against their conference foe. Bradley comes in at 81st in KenPom’s rankings while Belmont is 121st, which is another factor that I love.
TCU is coming off a nine-point loss as 2.5-point underdogs at West Virginia, but the Horned Frogs are still 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games, including 3-1 ATS as underdogs in true road games. Meanwhile, Kansas has failed to cover the spread in its last three games and in five of the last seven. Plus, the Jayhawks are just 6-10 ATS as favorites and 3-7 ATS at home, so I like TCU to bounce back with a cover against Kansas in this one.
