DePaul at Providence Prediction

DePaul is coming into Providence feeling all fat and sassy after knocking off Xavier, handing the top team in the Big East its first conference loss. But that game was in Chicago and Chicago isn’t Providence. The Friars have lost their last two road games and are finally back at home where they are undefeated and will be looking for a bounce-back win. The Friars defense, ranked 22nd on KenPom, should be able to overwhelm DePaul’s offense.

I expect Providence to absolutely dominate on the boards because the Friars rank sixth in offensive rebound percentage, while DePaul is ranked 321st in keeping teams off the offensive glass. Providence is also a top 10 team at getting to the free throw line and, you guessed it, DePaul is terrible at keeping teams off the line. This should be an easy, double-digit win for the home team.

My picks: Providence ATS

Vanderbilt at Georgia Prediction

I really liked the way Vanderbilt has been playing over the last two weeks, despite losing three of its last five games. Unfortunately, though, the loss of Liam Robbins to injury hurt the Commodores against Alabama on Tuesday and it's going to hurt them against Georgia on Saturday. The Bulldogs' overall defense has been great this season, but it's been particularly good at guarding the three-point line. Without Robbins in the lineup, Vanderbilt lacks a strong post presence and is going to have to rely heavily on outside shooting.

Offensive rebounding has also been a strong suit for the Commodores, but I would expect that to take a bit of a hit without Robbins as well. This also gives Georgia's bench, which ranks 4th in bench minutes, a significant advantage. Not to mention, the Bulldogs have been a covering machine lately, going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games.

My pick: Georgia ATS

Virginia Tech at Clemson Prediction

After starting ACC play with a perfect 7-0 record, which was their best start in program history, the Tigers finally suffered their first loss at the hands of Wake Forest. They now face a Virginia Tech team that is just 1-6 in the conference but finally returned its best three-point shooter, Hunter Cattoor, earlier in the week. While this is great for the Hokies, Clemson could be without two of its starting guards again on Sunday, with Chase Hunter joining Alex Hemenway on the sidelines.

Hemenway is the Tigers' best three-point shooter and Hunter is their second-leading scorer. He also leads the team in assists, which is why not having him there to run the offense is a major blow. Clemson only beat VT by three when they met a few weeks ago and I think we see another close game between them at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Hokies are desperate for a win and for revenge, while the Tigers look a little vulnerable.

My pick: Virginia Tech ATS
