Indiana at Purdue Prediction

These two teams met just a few weeks ago in Bloomington and Indiana won by five despite being up by 15 at the half. The Hoosiers shot lights-out in the first half, allowing them to build that massive lead. The second half was a different story with Purdue outscoring Indiana by 10. That’s the version of play I think we’re going to see from the Boilermakers on Saturday. For one, they’re at home where they’ve been dominant this season, going 15-1 SU and covering in their last four games. They also out-rebounded the Hoosiers by 16 and had 17 offensive rebounds, which isn’t exactly surprising when you have Zach Edey on your team. But the area that really killed them in that game was turnovers. Purdue had 16 turnovers to Indiana’s eight. That’s pretty uncharacteristic of Matt Painter’s team, so back the Boilermakers to get revenge on an Indiana team that's been mediocre on the road this season.

UTEP at Florida Atlantic Prediction

Thanks to North Texas losing to Charlotte on Thursday, Florida Atlantic has a chance to secure the C-USA regular-season title with a win at home on Saturday against UTEP. That shouldn't be too much of a challenge being the Miners are 6-11 in conference play and the Owls already beat them once this season with an eight-point win on the road. The Owls own C-USA's best offense and defense, according to KenPom, and UTEP's offense is so bad in both scoring and taking care of the basketball that I don't see a way in which it isn't completely overwhelmed by the Owls. FAU needs to continue beating teams in a convincing manner if it wasn't to earn an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament, which is why I like FAU to cover what I would imagine will be a double-digit spread on Saturday.

My pick: Florida Atlantic ATS

Saint Mary's at Gonzaga Preditction

East Coasters are going to have to stay up late to watch this one, but it has the makings to be the best game of the day. When these two teams met in early February, Saint Mary's earned the home win over the Zags in overtime. This is going to be another extremely close game, but I like Gonzaga to even the score at home. The Zags have performed far better at home while Saint Mary's played some of its worst basketball on the road. The Zags play at a much faster clip than the Gaels and being on their home floor will likely allow them to be the ones to dictate the pace, which benefits their offense. This is also a game with massive conference tournament implications. If Saint Mary's wins, they win the WCC regular-season title and get the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. If the Zags win, then they're tied and would share the title. With the stakes so high, this game could come down to a final possession, so I'll just take Gonzaga on the moneyline.
