Baylor at Texas Tech Prediction

Texas Tech is in a desperate spot after starting Big 12 play 0-5. Poor perimeter defense has led to a lot of those losses, as the Red Raiders are allowing teams to shoot nearly 40% from deep. That's a great sign for the over tonight because nearly half of Baylor’s shots come from beyond the arc. The Bears also have the eighth-highest offensive rating in the country, but on defense, they frequently send teams to the free-throw line. That’s an area that Texas Tech is great at exploiting, which should lead to quite a few freebees and a high-scoring affair.

My pick: Baylor at Texas Tech Over 144

Texas at Iowa State Prediction

Iowa State is back at home after losing to Kansas on the road. The Cyclones have been great on their home floor this season, averaging 75.0 ppg on 48% shooting while only giving up 58.0 points. Iowa State also has the sixth-best defense in the country, per KenPom, and is No. 1 in defensive turnover rate. The Cyclones are great at creating havoc on the defensive end and forcing turnovers. If they can do that to Texas tonight, the Longhorns could find themselves in another early deficit, which they've made a habit of lately. While they've been able to mount comebacks at home, it's going to be more difficult to do that on the road. The Longhorns defense also hasn't been great as of late, giving up at least 70 points in three of the last four games.

My pick: Iowa State -2.5

Kansas at Kansas State Prediction

Kansas has won the last eight meetings against Kansas State, but I think that streak is going to end tonight. The biggest difference for this Kansas State team compared to previous seasons is its confidence. The Wildcats have recorded huge road wins at Texas and Baylor, so they know that they can beat good teams. At 5-0 in the Big 12 and leading the conference, Kansas is undoubtedly a very good team, but the Jayhawks haven't exactly been blowing teams out of the water with three of their last four wins coming by a combined 11 points. Kansas State has covered the spread in five of its last six home games and has yet to lose at home this season, so give me the Wildcats tonight.
