D’Angelo Russell Over 7.5 assists vs. Spurs

The Spurs have allowed an NBA-high 11.43 assists per game to opposing point guards, which puts Russell in the best-possible matchup to produce dimes on Sunday. This will already be the third time he faces San Antonio this season and in the previous two meetings, he recorded a total of 16 assists on 24 potential assists. Both of those contests featured plenty of back-and-forth scoring and both teams were victorious once, so I don’t necessarily love the risk of a blowout in this spot (which is a plus). If this game stays close, I’m projecting Russell to be on the court for 30-to-33 minutes, which should give him enough opportunities to get over 7.5 assists.

Nikola Jokic Over 11.5 Rebounds vs. Lakers

The Lakers stink. Not only are they 0-5, but they have no shooting ability and no consistent production outside of LeBron James or Anthony Davis when he isn’t headed to the locker room. So far, Los Angeles has allowed 20.51 rebounds per game to opposing centers (2nd most in the NBA) and Rudy Gobert pulled down 21 rebounds in a 20-20 effort which I called on Friday. Jokic has averaged 10.7 boards per contest so far this year, but pulled down 13 in his previous meeting against this LA team on Wednesday and is in a great spot to replicate that on Sunday. I wouldn’t be shocked if he tops his previous season-high of 16 that he posted against the Thunder on October 22nd.
