Joel Embiid Under 26.5 Points (-125)
76ers center Joel Embiid may have averaged 30.6 points per game last year, but he’s probably going to see at least a little regression this season after that career high. And against the Celtics last year, Embiid went under this total in three of four matchups. The Celtics allowed a league-best 104.5 points per game in 2021-22, so this won’t be an easy season-opener for Embiid.
Stephen Curry Over 29.5 Points + Assists (-120)
Warriors guard and reigning NBA Finals MVP Stephen Curry is looking to win yet another title, so I expect him to start the season on a high note. Last year, he averaged 25.5 points and 6.3 assists per game. The Lakers also weren't great defensively last year, as they allowed the third-most points per game (115.1). Curry went over this total in all three of his games against the Lakers last year, and I anticipate he will tonight, too.
Andrew Wiggins Over 15.5 Points (-115)
Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins hasn’t gone under this total very often, and that’s accounting for his entire career. Last year, Wiggins enjoyed a career renaissance while averaging 17.2 points per game. He averages 19.3 points per game for his career and he’s scored 15 or fewer points in only 30% of the regular-season games he’s played in his career. Again, the Lakers allowed the third-most points per contest in 2021-22, so Wiggins will have opportunities to score.
