Dan Karpuc: Pistons +8 vs. Mavericks

This is tonight's lone NBA game (what a treat), which is quite surprising, but nonetheless, I think there's an edge here. Dallas may be 10-10 SU entering this game, but they’re just 5-14-1 ATS and have therefore covered 27.5% of the time. The Pistons have a 5-18 SU record, but they’ve gone 11-9-3 ATS and have therefore covered 54.3% of the time. The Pistons have also gone 7-0 ATS against Western Conference opponents this season and 37-19 ATS after three or more consecutive losses over the last three seasons, so I’m going to back the home team to keep this one relatively close, even if Luka Doncic goes off.

Lucy Burdge: Mavericks -8 at Pistons

The Mavericks are coming off covering a spread against the Warriors and the Pistons haven’t covered the spread in their last two games, so Dallas has some momentum coming into this one. The Pistons have also lost their last four straight home games and 10 of their last 12 games while the Mavericks have won eight of their last 10. So I like the Mavericks to win and cover tonight.

Kate Constable: Mavericks -8 at Pistons

This line doesn’t quite feel high enough. The Pistons are one of the worst teams in the league and are without their best player in Cade Cunningham. They could also be without Jaden Ivey who has been out the last few games as well. The Mavs are terrible on the road this season, having only won one game, so that’s likely why this line isn’t higher. I think this is a great spot for Dallas to turn that around against a bad Pistons team. Plus, Dallas needs to start stacking wins and climbing up the Western Conference ranks after their poor play as of late has them sitting in the 11th spot. Luka Doncic is going to feast against Detroits defense and the Mavs will cover this spread.
