Nuggets at Heat Prediction

The Miami Heat (32-25 SU, 21-34-2 ATS, 24-32 O/U) and the Denver Nuggets (39-18 SU, 29-25-3 ATS, 26-30 O/U) meet tonight in South Beach.

Denver is the underdog in this matchup, but likely only because both Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray are listed as questionable. Regardless of if those two end up playing or not, I think the Nuggets will have the upper hand tonight. They have the second-best offensive rating in the league and have the second-best 3-point shooting percentage. While the Heat are a great defensive team overall, one area that they struggle to defend is beyond the arc. Miami also doesn’t cover the spread at a very high rate, going 2-6 ATS in its last eight games.

My Pick: Nuggets +1.5

Spurs at Cavaliers Prediction

The Cleveland Cavaliers (37-22 SU, 33-24-2 ATS, 26-33 O/U) look to get revenge on the San Antonio Spurs (14-43 SU, 23-34 ATS, 32-24 O/U) after losing to them earlier in the season.

The Spurs haven’t won a single game in the month of February and have only won two games since the start of the new year. Not only are they not winning, but they’ve failed to cover the spread in each of their last 11 games. Trading away Jakob Poeltl also leaves Zach Collins as San Antonio’s starting big man and I’m not confident in his ability to match up with Jarrett Allen and/or Evan Mobley tonight. The Cavs have the advantage in both the frontcourt and backcourt tonight and should win this game with ease.

My Pick: Spurs -15

Lakers at Trail Blazers Prediction

The Los Angeles Lakers (26-31 SU, 25-28-4 ATS, 31-25 O/U) and Portland Trail Blazers (27-29 SU, 28-26-2 ATS, 27-27 O/U) meet for the third and final time this season.

The Lakers offense has been able to put up points with ease against bad defensive teams and that's exactly what Portland is. While the Blazers have a top-five offense over their last five games, they also have the second-worst defense. They've allowed at least 122 points in four straight games, which has led to the over hitting in four of their last five games. D’Angelo Russell made an impact in his first game with the Lakers and will make the team's offense better alongside LeBron James, who I expect to play tonight after sitting out of Saturday's game against the Warriors. With his ability to run the point and distributed, the Lakers suddenly turn into a more dangerous offensive team which will help push this game over the total tonight.
