Dan Karpuc: Pelicans -3 at Lakers
While Russell Westbrook was effective off the bench for the Lakers last game, which happened to be their first win of the year, I don’t trust that he, LeBron James and Anthony Davis can lead L.A. over this talented and deep Pelicans team. LeBron and AD are both banged up, which isn’t much of a shock for Davis, who will now have to face Zion “bowling ball” Williamson with a painful back ailment. (I’m assuming that he will be heading to the locker room at some point after Zion collides with him in the post.) The Lakers are 1-5 SU and 1-5 ATS and I’m not going to assume that they turned the corner after one win in six tries. The Pelicans are 4-2 SU and 4-2 ATS despite the fact that they’ve been dealing with numerous injuries. Luckily for them, they’ve been able to navigate through Brandon Ingram’s ailment and he will be out again tonight. I expect Williamson, C.J. McCollum, Jonas Valanciunas and the supporting cast to get the job done, win and cover the spread on the road.

Lucy Burdge: Bucks -11.5 vs. Pistons
The Bucks are rolling so far this season, covering the spread in five of their first six games, and I think they’ll continue to cover here with the dominance of Giannis and Co. A trend favoring them to cover is that Mike Budenholzer is 47-20 ATS against division opponents while coaching Milwaukee. Plus, the inconsistent Pistons are just 4-4 ATS this season, so I have a lot of faith in the Bucks to cover this spread tonight at home.

Brad Pinkerton: Grizzlies -4.5 at Blazers

I was all set to pick Blazers +4.5 here considering that they're 5-1 ATS to start the season and Memphis is just 2-4 ATS, including 1-3 on the road. But then I saw that the BetQL model is rating Grizzlies -4.5 as a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ value, which is significant because the model is an absurd 36-6 (85.7%) on all NBA picks rated ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and higher over the last week. I'm not stubborn enough to pick against that kind of hot streak. Plus, as the model also points out, the early sharp money is coming in on Memphis, and Taylor Jenkins is 25-9 ATS coming off a road loss by at least 10 points while coaching the Grizz. In the end, not having Damian Lillard (calf) against Ja Morant and Co. could be too much for Portland to overcome.
