Kate Constable: Magic +1 vs. Heat

The Heat are on a back-to-back after playing the Rockets last night. Miami is just 2-4-1 ATS when playing on zero days rest, which is likely due to resting players in these situations. I could see that being the case again on Saturday. The Magic have also looked really good lately, beating the Nuggets on Thursday and winning three of their last five games. Orlando is showing that it’s no longer a team that opponents can take lightly. It’s top-10 in defensive rating and rebounding percentage over its last five games. Plus, the last time these two teams met in Miami, the Magic only lost by five. They’ll keep this second meeting close and cover the spread.

Dan Karpuc: Virginia -6 vs. Duke

Riding a six-game home winning streak, Virginia has also covered the spread in four consecutive home contests, including three double-digit wins in a row. With a 13-1 SU home record, I love Virginia’s outlook in this matchup against Duke, which is coming off of an 81-59 loss at Miami. The Blue Devils have gone just 4-6 SU (3-7 ATS) on the road this year and have failed to cover the spread in six of their last seven games away from Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Cavaliers rank 14th in KenPom’s overall efficiency rankings, while Duke is all the way down in 35th place, which highlights the clear gap between the two programs this season.

Lucy Burdge: Knicks -5.5 vs. Jazz

Both of these teams are on back-to-backs, but I think the Knicks have the upper hand here being at home after the quick trip to Philly, with Utah coming to New York from Toronto. The Knicks also beat the Jazz, 118-111, the last time these two faced off in November, so I think the Knicks can get another win and cover here.
