The Yankees are rested but they could be rusted heading into the playoffs and the Guardians just swept the Rays in the wild-card round. I think the Guardians are going to carry that momentum into a win here to kick off the Yankees in the series-opener. These two are tied 11-11 in the playoffs all-time against each other with the Yankees winning the last two series, so I think the Guardians will be looking for revenge with Cal Quantrill on the mound against Gerrit Cole.

Justin Verlander 6+ Ks vs. Mariners (+100 at FanDuel)
FanDuel has boosted Verlander 6+ Ks from -185 to +100, making this a no-brainer for me. The Verlander redemption story has now reached the playoffs as he returned this season from Tommy John surgery and I think he's going to have a big strikeout performance against the Mariners in his first playoff game since the World Series in 2019. He hit this over in three of his last four starts this season and in five of his last six, so he's on a roll when it comes to hitting this over. And he's faced the Mariners quite a bit this season and hit the over four times against them, including a 12-strikeout outing. I'm all-in on Verlander to smash this over tonight.

Myles Straw To Get a Hit vs. Yankees (-122, Caesars)
Myles Straw is perhaps my favorite baseball player to ever walk the face of the earth after he called Yankees fans "classless" and the "worst fanbase on the planet" earlier this season. So I am all-in on him to have a huge series against the Yankees and their fans here, and I like him to get a hit against Gerrit Cole and New York to open up this series.
