Dan Karpuc: Dodgers -1.5 vs. Padres
Julio Urias (17-7, 2.16 ERA) will get the start for the Dodgers, who finished the regular season with an insane 111-51 overall record and +334 run differential. As you might imagine, that much dominance allowed them to go an MLB-best 95-67 (59.9%) versus the run line, including 49-32 (60.5%) at home, where they’ll be on Tuesday night. In four starts against the Padres this season, Urias went 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA and only allowed 15 hits in 24.0 innings pitched (.181 opposing batting average). L.A.’s lefty has allowed two or fewer earned runs in 14 consecutive starts dating all the way back to mid-July, so I feel very comfortable backing him due to that consistency he showed down the stretch. The Dodgers have an edge on the mound, at the plate and I’m going to be very high on them throughout their postseason run.

Lucy Burdge: Guardians +1.5 at Yankees
The Guardians kick off the ALDS with Cal Quantrill on the mound up against Gerrit Cole for the Yankees, and I think Cleveland can start this series with a cover. The Yankees were just 72-90 ATS this season, including 37-44 at home and 62-86 as the favorites. Meanwhile, the Guardians were 87-77 ATS overall, 48-33 on the road and 46-33 as underdogs. One trend in favor of the Guardians covering is that during the second half of this season they are 13-2 ATS in Quantrill's starts vs. an AL team with an OBP of .330 or worse. While they may not win, I like the Guardians on the run line to open up this series.

Brad Pinkerton: Mariners +1.5 at Astros

I love the two picks above, and a close No. 3 favorite MLB bet for today is Mariners +1.5 at Houston. I generally don't bet against Justin Verlander and Co., but you can get the Seattle run line as low as -118 at FanDuel, which is great value for a team that went 49-34 ATS on the road, 50-30 ATS as underdogs and 31-19 ATS as road 'dogs. After sweeping the Blue Jays in Toronto in the wild-card round, don't be surprised if the Mariners keep it close and cover in Houston.
