Dan Karpuc: Canadiens +1.5 Goals vs. Maple Leafs
Ahh, the NHL season is back and it’s only fitting that these two rivals square off to open their respective campaigns. Last season, Montreal covered this +1.5-goal puck line in all four meetings with the Leafs and beat Toronto outright in two contests despite an overall 22-49-11 record. The puck will drop in Montreal, where the home crowd will be rowdy in support of the Habs. This is one of BetQL’s best bets of the day across any sport, so that adds icing to the cake.

Lucy Burdge: Braves -135 vs. Phillies
After falling 7-6 in the first game of the NLDS, I think the Braves are going to even this up with the Phillies and get the win in Game 2. Some trends that favor them to do just that are that Brian Snitker while coaching Atlanta is 104-46 SU vs. teams whose hitters draw three walks or fewer per game in the second half of the season, and 28-18 in October games. Kyle Wright is getting the start for the Braves and he was 21-5 this season with a 3.19 ERA. The last time he faced the Phillies at the end of September, he gave up two runs, two hits and struck out six batters in a win, so I think he’ll have another solid outing here and help the Braves even the series.

Brad Pinkerton: Louisiana +10.5, +330 ML at Marshall (DraftKings)
This is excellent value on Louisiana in this rematch of last year's New Orleans Bowl, which the Ragin' Cajuns won, 36-21. Though Louisiana (2-3) is on a three-game losing streak, Marshall has also started out uneven at 3-2 and has failed to cover three straight spreads. That makes Louisiana +10.5 very intriguing here, but I'm also looking at the value on the moneyline given that the Cajuns are 16-4 SU on the road since 2019. The BetQL model agrees that Marshall -410 is way too short, projecting the Herd as only -170 favorites and rating Louisiana +10.5 as ⭐⭐⭐⭐ vaue.
