Should You Back Bryson to Win at LIV Nashville?

Bryson DeChambeau won his second U.S. Open over the weekend & is the favorite to win LIV Nashville at +750.

The 2024 U.S. Open finished in dramatic fashion on Sunday at Pinehurst No. 2. Bryson DeChambeau won his second U.S. Open after coming in clutch down the stretch. He hit a perfect shot from the bunker on the 18th before sinking a putt for the win. His competition, Rory McIlroy, was the opposite of clutch. McIlroy missed from two feet, six inches on the 16th to fall out of sole possession of the lead. Tied with DeChambeau heading into the 18th, he once again missed a putt inside four feet, finishing second as a result.

McIlroy released a statement afterward, letting fans know that he plans to take some time off before returning for the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open at Royal Troon. DeChambeau, however, will be back in action with LIV Golf this weekend in Nashville. Can he win again for the second straight weekend?

Betting On Bryson At LIV Nashville

DeChambeau is the favorite entering play at The Grove in Nashville on Friday. He sits at +750 to win outright, +135 to finish in the top 5 and -155 to finish in the top 10 at DraftKings.

The two-time U.S. Open winner has a ton of momentum coming into the weekend but is also coming off a busy few days. DeChambeau drank red wine from his $4.3 million trophy after winning on Sunday and spent Monday doing rounds of media interviews. He told The Pat McAfee Show that he was "a little wrecked" after celebrating, so spending the next few days nursing a hangover likely isn't out of the question.

I don't blame DeChambeau for celebrating another Major Championship, but because of that, I don't recommend betting on him to win outright in Nashville this weekend. Instead, I'm going to look at someone further down the board. At +1800 on DraftKings, I like Abraham Ancer to earn the win at the Grove.

Abraham Ancer (+1800, DraftKings)

The course is 7,297 yards and is typically a par 72, but one of the par 5s will play as a par four this weekend, making it a par 71. The fairways are wide but there are plenty of water hazards to be aware of. Ancer leads all LIV players in fairway percentage off the tee (67.5%), which will give him a significant edge on this course. He also already has one LIV win under his belt and four top-10 finishes.
