Bills at Rams Week 1 Preview and Prediction

Two Super Bowl contenders are set to open the NFL season

Bills at Rams Preview For Week 1

The Buffalo Bills' season ended with one of the most memorable playoff games we've ever seen in the NFL, but of course, for them, they didn't walk off that field with the same feeling we might have had when they lost to the Chiefs.

Last year, Buffalo went 11-6 winning the AFC East, and heads into 2022 with a win total of 11.5 and more Super Bowl aspirations (+600 at BetMGM).

The Rams obviously have similar goals, looking to defend their own title from last season, sitting at +1100 to win it all again, with a win total of 10.5 after winning 12 in 2021.

We'll open the 2022 season with a new Thursday Night Football broadcast, and two teams with lofty goals.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo had the highest point differential during the regular season last year (+194), which makes sense given how loaded this team is on both sides of the ball. The Bills ranked third in points per game (28.4), and first in points allowed (17.0), so you can expect something pretty similar again this year too.

Going 12-7 ATS including the playoffs last year put them seventh overall, but spoiler alert, the Rams come in even better here.

Von Miller will go up against his former team in L.A. after signing with the Bills in the offseason, which just adds another weapon for an already stingy Buffalo defense.

Los Angeles Rams

So sure, the Rams lost Miller to the Bills in free agency, but they still added former All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner to a defense that ranked 15th in points allowed. L.A.'s struggles against the run last year are something the Bills will try and exploit, with only the Steelers and Texans allowing more yards on the ground, and Buffalo having the sixth-most rushing yards last season.

The Rams also covered in over 76 percent of their games last year (16-5), which was the best in the NFL.

Adding wideout Allen Robinson to an already potent pass game will obviously be a major plus for Matt Stafford, who's more than comfortable with reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.

My Favorite Pick: Over 52

Both teams went over at least 50 percent of the time last season, ranking in the Top-10, and given the firepower both offenses bring to the table, even with Buffalo's tough defense, you can expect a lot of points on the board here.

In seven of the last eight meetings, at least one team has scored 30 or more points as well.
