Every year, sportsbooks release their win totals for most teams in Division 1 football, which can give us a feel for how a school is projected to do next season. Among the teams with the highest win totals, the usual suspects can be found. Right now, the highest win total for any team is 10.5, with six teams sharing this total, but one team is pushing that boundary. Below is a list of the teams with a win total of 10.5 and their consensus odds:
It is clear that sportsbooks think these are the teams that are in the best position to succeed, and it is hard to argue with them. All six of these teams are likely going to be in contention next year, outside of maybe Liberty due to their conference and easy schedule.
Liberty o10.5
Unlike the rest of these teams, the Flames will benefit more from an easier schedule. Last year, they proved that they were the cream of the crop in the CUSA.
Very little has changed to make me think otherwise. They are head and shoulders better than anyone they will face next season on paper, and I wouldn't doubt it at all if they go undefeated. The bad news for them is that even if they do, they likely won't make the CFP simply because of the weak competition that they have to deal with.
