Kansas State Wildcats

Is there really that much to say about the Wildcats? This team is OK, but they just lost straight up as two-touchdown favorites at home to Tulane last week. That is not a good look for your program or your team as a whole. Tulane's QB Michael Pratt threw two interceptions and didn't even cross the 200-yard mark through the air, and he still beat the Wildcats. Kansas State couldn't get anything going on offense, as they were completely shut down by the Tulane defense for most of the game.

Now imagine having to face the Sooners this week. K-State's only hope is the defense, which has been great to start the year, allowing just 29 points in three games. That will certainly be challenged when they travel to Oklahoma against an explosive offense that can score at will against almost anyone.

No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners

Upset avoided. OK, so there was never a doubt in the actual game that Oklahoma was going to win, but all we heard this past week was how it was a prime spot for the Sooners to take a loss. Sharp money coming in on Nebraska after they fired the incompetent Scott Frost, thinking the team was going to magically get better and play harder after his departure. Welp, that certainly didn't happen. The Sooners have done nothing but take care of business in what was supposed to be a down year for the school after Lincoln Riley and QB Caleb Williams departed for USC this past summer.

Oklahoma has nearly covered all of three games, their lone shortcoming as 33-point favorites over Kent State when they won, 33-3. QB Dillon Gabriel has picked up right where the Riley era left off with its QBs, a great passer that can light up opposing defenses with ease.

This is a train that has just left the station, and they are full-steam ahead to another monster season. Kansas State had best be ready, because it looks like this train has no brakes.

Kansas State at Oklahoma Prediction: Sooners -13

I know its the opener for conference play in the Big 12, and these two teams know each other well, but c'mon. You can't expect me to take Kansas State after how they looked against Tulane. The Sooners traveled to Lincoln to face a desperate Nebraska team, and everything was set up for them to be upset, but they demolished the Huskers right from the opening kickoff for a 49-14 victory. The Wildcats seem to be headed in the wrong direction, while the Oklahoma train goes choo-choo straight down the golden tracks.
