The NBA season is rolling along and Nick Kostos went through his top Eastern Conference teams on Thursday’s BetMGM Tonight.
Kostos gave Trysta Krick, Ryan Horvat and Quinton Mayo his ranking of these teams, along with a Kyrie Irving prediction about his vaccination status, even though the Nets take the top spot on his list with or without Irving.
“I still have Brooklyn (Nets) probably No. 1,” Kostos said. “Even as poorly as they’ve played so far to start. Steve Nash even said it’s going to take a while to get the rotations figured out. (James) Harden basically admitted that he’s not in shape. So, I mean once Harden gets in shape I feel like it’s gonna be … he’ll get there.
“And we’ll see about Kyrie over the course of the season,” he continued. “I just have a suspicion that he’s going to end up getting vaccinated and play but I could be wrong about that. But even without Kyrie I think this is probably the best team in the East. I think you have to go Milwaukee second. Until someone knocks them off I would put them and Brooklyn at the top.”
“Miami’s been really impressive,” Kostos said of the Heat. “I think the (New York) Knicks have been impressive. I’m not a huge believer in Chicago (Bulls). I think Charlotte’s (Hornets) going to come back down to earth. The (Washington) Wizards will probably come back down to earth. I’m super impressed by the Cavs, but I don’t think Cleveland is going to end up as probably a playoff team even in the Eastern Conference. And Atlanta’s (Hawks) got to be up there as well.”
