Today's MLB Best Bets

Dan Karpuc: Angels Over 4.5 Total Runs (+105, DraftKings)
Chicago’s Lucas Giolito has been horrendous in four of his last five starts. Over that span, he’s allowed 40 hits and 27 earned runs in just 25.2 innings, including nine homers. Something is clearly off with him right now, so Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani and CO. should be in a great spot to produce at the plate. I am usually hesitant about backing Los Angeles’ offense, but there’s enough of an edge to take advantage of the situation at plus-money. Based on current form, this is a smart bet, even if you’re hesitant because of Giolito’s name. To add, after Giolito exits, Chicago will turn to a bullpen with a 4.19 ERA, which ranks in the bottom half of the league.

Brad Pinkerton: Yankees -1.5 vs. A's

At around -300 on the moneyline, there's little to no value in betting the Yankees to win outright, so taking them on the run line is the right move today. Though New York has covered just once in the last six games, those were against quality teams in the Rays and Astros. At 25-49 SU and 34-40 ATS, Oakland is not a quality team. The BetQL model is projecting a comfortable two-run victory for the Yanks, adding even more confidence to this cover.
