Manchester United Odds to Win Premier League Shorten after Cristiano Ronaldo Acquisition

A look at the updated odds for Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined the team where he became a futbol superstar on Friday, and his return shortened Manchester United's odds to win the English Premier League (EPL) at several sportsbooks.

At PointsBet Sportsbook, Man U's odds to win the EPL moved after the news came out.

“Even at the age of 36, Cristiano Ronaldo’s star power is still very real," said Patrick Eichner, Director of Communications at PointsBet Sportsbook. "Though no longer the spring chicken he was when last donning a Man U kit, Ronaldo still moves the needle on and off the pitch. The Red Devils sat at +800 to win the Premier League last week, and following the acquisition saw moves to +550 on Friday and to +500 on Sunday (8/29)."

As for winning the title, Man City is still the betting favorite to win it all at PointsBet, coming in at +120. City's odds slightly lengthened after the Ronaldo move by United, as the champs went from +115 to +120 to win the league. Chelsea (+270) and Liverpool (+450) round out the upper-tier of contenders.

The Ronaldo Affect also impacted the team's odds to win the United Champions League. That price moved from +1200 to +1000 at BetMGM. The soccer sensation also currently sits at +450 to be the top goal scorer in the EPL.

Ronaldo played for Man U from 2003-2009 and scored 84 goals. The team has not won an EPL title since 2013, but they are hoping to contend after bringing their prodigal son back.

It's going to be another amazing EPL season for fans and bettors alike, so let the games begin!
