Hammer the Hammers: West Ham vs. Newcastle Prediction

This may not be the game that everyone is waiting for in Match Day 31 but it may be the best match to bet on for this week. West Ham is not so sneaky anymore and they are fighting for a Champions League spot, while Newcastle has been finding the back of the net as of late. When these two teams meet on Saturday morning, we should all be in for a treat.

Obviously, West Ham is the heavy favorite in this game currently sitting at (+100) to win the game, which seems a bit low for how well the Hammers have been playing. In their past three games the Hammers have been able to put home 9 goals, which is unreal. Since Jesse Lingard has transferred over he has been an absolute scoring machine and now has 8 goals on the season. West Ham has been in great form against lower quality teams on the season and we have a feeling that will continue against Newcastle. The Hammers have done a great job against the teams that sit at the bottom of the table, and after an exciting 3-2 win over Leicester City the Hammers should look to continue scoring. The only issue with the Hammers is that they have been letting in more goals than you would like to see. Although they have scored 9 goals in their last three games the Hammers have also given up 7, with two of those being against Wolves who looked like they may not score the rest of the season. The Hammers offense is undeniable right now, but their defense has been a bit shaky.

Surely no one really believes that Newcastle will be able to upset West Ham, which is why they are currently (+285) to win the game outright. Where bettors may wager some cash is that the Magpies will be able to score. Although they sit right outside the relegation zone Newcastle has shown they can score the ball as of late. In their last two games Newcastle has been able to score two goals against both Tottenham and Burnley. In Newcastle's last 11 games they have scored in 8 of those games. We have a good feeling they will be able to score against West Ham at least once here. When you are facing a team like West Ham that has been scored on more than you would like to see you have to think Newcastle will be able to put one in the back of the net here.

The over under in this game sits at 2.5 goals right now, which is always a scary number to bet. Although we have a feeling that both teams can score, we are not confident it will get to the over 2.5 especially since the odds on over 2.5 are at (-105) it is a bit of a gamble to hit that bet. West Ham has shown they will keep pressing and keep shooting until the final whistle blows, but if Newcastle is not able to score here it is a tough ask for West Ham to bag three goals. Overall, we would lean towards the over, but it is not something we would want to bet on its own.

We are excited for this game and may even wake up for the 7:30 EST kick off time to see it, but we are definitely betting this game.
