  • The Arizona Coyotes (+1500, BetRivers) and Buffalo Sabres (+1500, BetRivers) are tied for the longest odds to make the 2021-2022 NHL Playoffs.

  • The Coyotes went 24-26-6 (54 points) last season, but are expected to decline this year.

  • The Sabres went 15-34-7 (37 points) last season and are expected to be one of the worst teams in the league yet again.

Arizona Coyotes (+1500)

The Arizona Coyotes have +1500 odds to make the playoffs, via BetRivers. After going 24-26-6 last season, Arizona is getting evicted from Glendale after the upcoming season, traded away Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Darcy Kuemper, Christian Dvorak, Conor Garland, let Alex Goligoski, Derrick Brassard and Michael Bunting leave in free agency and lost all of their goaltenders.

In other words, it’s a complete dumpster fire right now.

While the team added some veterans to fill needs, it’s clear that the future and the rebuild are what matters most, not the present day.

Buffalo Sabres (+1500)

The Sabres also have +1500 odds, tied with the Coyotes. Most importantly, this team doesn’t have the talent to win, even with superstar Jack Eichel. Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristolainen were traded and this team is going to be abysmal defensively yet again.

Rumors are swirling regarding a potential trade of Eichel, who probably doesn’t want to be part of another rebuild. There are also questions regarding his health, which drops them down another few notches.

All-in-all, it seems logical that these two teams will struggle.
