Stanley Cup Finals Game 5 Most-Bet Props, Notable Line Movement

The Stanley Cup Finals are rolling along, with Game 5 set to go down between the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night. Tampa Bay leads the series 3-1 and a couple of the most-bet props on this game are on the Lightning to take Game 5. Let’s take a look at some of the most-bet props and notable line movement at BetMGM ahead of this matchup.

Three of the most-bet props for Game 5 of this series are the Lightning to win and under 6.5 goals (-105), Tampa Bay’s Brayden Point to score anytime goal (+145), and the Lightning winning margin by 2 goals (+500). The Lightning won Game 1 of this series 5-1, they took Game 2 with a score of 3-1, and Game 3 with a 6-3 score, before the Canadiens finally took Game 4 with a 3-2 win.

Tampa Bay has been the favorite to win this series ahead of each of these five games so far. Before Game 1 their odds were -275, before Game 2 they were -550, ahead of Game 3 they were -1400, and before Game 4 they were -5000. And ahead of Wednesday night’s Game 5 they are -2000. 

Which means, of course, the Canadiens have remained the underdogs ahead of each game. Before Game 1, their odds to win this series were +220, they were at +400 before Game 2, ahead of Game 3 they were +900, and before Game 4 they were +2200. And before Game 5 their odds are +1200. 

To win Game 5, the Lightning opened at -225 and are now at -250. The Canadiens are +190 underdogs. As for the spread, it opened at the Lightning -1.5 (+125) and has moved to -1.5 (+120). The Over/Under total of 5 opened at Over -120, and that Over is now -135. The Under is at +110. 

Tampa Bay’s -250 moneyline is getting 75 percent of the tickets and 87 percent of the handle. 60 percent of the tickets and 67 percent of the handle is on the Under in this one.
