Prediction

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are so difficult to predict. You really never know what is going to happen, and even the lowest of seeds can push the best of the best to the brink. We saw the Washington Capitals really get under the skin and play very well against the Presidents Trophy winner Florida Panthers. We saw the St. Louis Blues upset the Minnesota Wild. The New York Rangers came back after being down three games to one to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Unpredictable, to say the least.

Still, books seem to be sleeping a bit on the defending champion Lightning. Yes, they have to play the Panthers in Round 2, but are they really almost +300 behind the Panthers to win it all? That seems a little crazy to me. In the regular season series, which is four games between these two teams, they each won two games a piece for an even tie. They each split their home games with one another, going 1-1. There isn't that much of a difference to me, and while Tampa Bay just dispatched a really good Toronto Maple Leafs team, Florida struggled quite a bit with the Capitals all series.

At +650, I think that's some good value on the Lightning to three-peat. You know they want history, and they'll be coming for it.
