Why you should consider betting on Brad Marchand to win the NHL MVP

  • Boston Bruins LW Brad Marchand’s odds to win his first NHL MVP are +1800 at BetMGM.

  • The Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid is favored to win with +300 odds.

  • McDavid won the award last season, but there is more value in Marchand’s odds.

The Boston Bruins made a lot of changes to their roster this offseason, but one constant is Brad Marchand.

Marchand’s odds to win the 2021-22 NHL MVP are +1800 at BetMGM.

The Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid, last season's MVP, is the favorite with +300 odds at BetMGM, but I don’t see value there.

Marchand has the ability to win an MVP, and I believe there is value in his odds.

Get In On Marchand’s Odds To Win NHL MVP

Marchand has played in the NHL for 12 seasons and has never won the Hart Memorial Trophy. He’s been an All-Star multiple times and is a Stanley Cup champion. He holds the records for most overtime goals in Bruins history with 16 and most shorthanded goals in Bruins history with 31.

I think it's finally time Marchand wins this award and his +1800 odds will only get shorter from here.

In terms of being valuable to his team, Marchand is at the top of this list for the Bruins. He serves as a mentor to his teammates and with members of the core group of the team gone this season, Marchand will have to step up -- and he knows it.

"This is a little bit different than where we've been in the past," Marchand told the media last week. "We always have turnover and every year it's part of the business, guys come and go. But to have some of the guys leave out of our core group that we've had here for a long time, it's a bit of a different feeling.

"But there's a lot of excitement around our team,” he added. “We know we're very deep and we have a great opportunity this year. I think there's a lot of excitement around the guys coming in and the opportunity they're going to have."

That positivity is going to come in handy off the ice as a teammate while the Bruins will be looking to go further than they did last year when they lost to the New York Islanders in the second round of the playoffs.

Marchand’s Performance On The Ice

Last season, Marchand had 29 goals, 40 assists and 69 points in 53 games. He has 319 total goals in his career, with 715 points and 396 total assists.

Marchand knows he’s going to have to step up for the Bruins this season and I think this will lead him to excel on the ice.

It’s going to be a big year for Marchand and I see value in his +1800 odds to win the NHL MVP.
