Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings narrowly escaped a bad loss to the Detroit Lions by coming back at home to grab a victory 28-24. They failed to cover the spread again, and now sit at 1-2 ATS on the season. We also can't forget that this game will be played across the pond in London, UK. That can have a huge impact on both teams in terms of time change, so that is something to keep an eye on.

Minnesota took advantage of Detroit’s leaky defense in Week 3, and QB Kirk Cousins went 24-of-41 for 260 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, while also benefiting from solid pass protection that only allowed one sack. RB Dalvin Cook rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, but sustained an apparent shoulder injury. Something to monitor as we move forward, but it doesn't look like it is too serious. Alexander Mattison is one of the better backup RBs in the league, so they have him to rely on if Cook can't go.

The Saints have been really vulnerable against the run this season, so Cook or Mattison might have a big game on the ground again in Week 4. Minnesota’s defense could also take advantage of Jameis Winston’s turnover-prone style of play, as the guy loves to throw picks. Winston now has five interceptions in the Saints’ first three games.

The Vikings are 2-2 against the spread in their last four games overall.

New Orleans Saints

As mentioned previously, with Winston, it’s always about taking the good with the bad. Since the start of the season, he hasn’t been very good at all under center for the Saints, who might have a decision to make on a potential QB switch. That said, Saints head coach Dennis Allen has already said that the team will be sticking with Winston, who went 25-of-41 for 353 passing yards, one TD, and two INTs in the loss to Carolina in Week 3.

Alvin Kamara also did not show up, rushing for just 61 rushing yards on 15 carries, while also losing a fumble. Rookie wide receiver Chris Olave exploded for 147 receiving yards on nine catches, and has easily been the Saints best player so far in 2022. He's someone to watch out for in his player prop

The Under is 8-2 in the Saints’ last 10 games overall.

My Prediction

I'm not a huge believer in this Saints team, but I'm also not super high on the Vikings either. I'm not sure exactly what team Minnesota is as of right now, but I know I like them a bit more than New Orleans with Winston at QB.

I'll take the Vikings here at a short number of -2.5.
