Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Ruled Out vs. Raiders

When the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday ruled out QB Tua Tagovailoa for Week 3 with broken ribs, it caused havoc on the odds for Sunday’s matchup against the Oakland Raiders.

The Dolphins opened as 1-point underdogs, but the spread quickly swelled to Miami +5.5 when word spread that Jacoby Brissett would replace Tagovailoa under center at Oakland. The line has since settled at Miami +4.

Meanwhile, the updated moneyline has the Dolphins +175 and the Raiders -210. The moneyline has been as short at +160 and as long as +195 for Miami and we could see more movement here before kickoff Sunday.

Tagovailoa’s absence has shaken up the total as well. The O/U opened at 48, but immediately dropped to 45 on Wednesday's announcement. Points will be at a premium in this game with Brissett in for Miami, Dolphins WR Will Fuller (personal) still missing and both Derek Carr (ankle) and Josh Jacobs (ankle) banged up and questionable for Oakland.

For what it’s worth, the BetQL NFL Model still doesn’t love any particular bet even with the wild odds movement this week.
