Tom Brady Apparently Never Ages, Having Another Career Year

It's so common that it almost gets overlooked

  • Tom Brady now has the fifth-best odds to win MVP at FanDuel (+800) behind Josh Allen (+450), Kyler Murray (+500), Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert (+600).

  • Brady's 1,767 passing yards lead the entire NFL while his 15 touchdown passes rank second.

  • BetQL has gone 23-15 (60.5%) on spread bets in Tom Brady's starts. If you had bet $100 on each, you'd be up $602 right now.

At this point, it really doesn't seem crazy to think Tom Brady could play until he's 50. If he keeps up with this avocado ice cream TB12 routine, the career years might just keep coming.

Brady, 44, is in the middle of another season as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and at this point it almost seems to go unnoticed. Sports fans are so used to Brady being at or near the top of every statistical category that his age-44 season is barely a storyline. So let's fix that.

The Numbers

Brady's 1,767 passing yards lead the entire NFL while his 15 touchdown passes are second. He also leads the NFL with 225 pass attempts, all while having just two interceptions, which is tied for the lowest among quarterbacks with at least 183 attempts.

He's also the fifth highest-rated at his position (108.5), but the other four signal-callers above him have thrown at least 53 fewer passes than Brady.

Essentially, we're getting a high volume from Brady, with peak efficiency.

MVP Conversation?

Brady now has the fifth-best odds to win MVP at FanDuel (+800) behind Josh Allen (+450), Kyler Murray (+500), Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert (+600). He absolutely deserves to be in the conversation, and if he continues to trend in this direction, you may see him climb that list.

There's value in Brady at +800 right now.

Keep in mind though, a lot is factored in the MVP voting at the end of the year. Just like with NBA MVP odds, it's the media voting on this award, which means narratives matter -- as does player performance and team wins, of course, all while factoring in voter fatigue.

Brady along with, say, Michael Jordan, would've just won every year if voters only voted on the results. But they want to see different names get the award.

As for Thursday, I wouldn't worry about that thumb injury, Brady will be out there like he always is. Tampa is -7 against the Eagles, a three-star BetQL bet, and the Bucs -300 moneyline is a four-star bet.

When you're doing what Brady is doing at 44 years old, there's no precedent for this type of success. So you might as well just throw out everything you thought you knew because, as usual, Tom Brady is making history, and we should all be paying close attention.
