Redskins Coach Jay Gruden Makes Stunning Admission

At 0-4, he appears to be deflated heading into a matchup against the 4-0 Patriots

As the 0-4 Washington Redskins host the 4-0 New England Patriots on Sunday as 15-point underdogs, it seems like their head coach might have already thrown in the towel.

Jay Gruden, who will most likely see his tenure in Washington come to an end sooner rather than later, admitted that he didn’t know who he was going to start at quarterback. His options: Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins and now-healthy Colt McCoy

Last week, in an embarrassing 24-3 loss to the New York Giants, Keenum was unproductive and Haskins looked completely overmatched, throwing three interceptions. Therefore, Gruden will have to make a decision to start the high-salaried Keenum, rookie Haskins or career backup McCoy.

Regardless of who gets the honor, they’ll face the league’s top defensive unit who hasn’t allowed a single passing touchdown through the first four weeks.

It could be tough sledding for Washington on Sunday, which would be a fitting ending for what was a tumultuous era under Gruden.

UPDATE: Colt McCoy will start.
