Key Matchup To Watch: Evans vs. Ramsey

This is going to be quite fun. There may not be another more exciting matchup to watch in the Divisional round than watching a HoF-caliber wide receiver take on his equal at cornerback. Mike Evans has been amazing once again this year, going over 1,000 yards in every single season he has been in the NFL to this point. He also had a team-leading 14 TD's this season as QB Tom Brady's No. 1 target in the red zone. There's no doubting how good Evans is, but this weekend he will square off with an equally dominant corner who has been lights out late this season in Jalen Ramsey.

We all know that Ramsey has long been the top cover corner in the league, this generation's version of Darrelle Revis. He's physical, tough, extremely fast, and athletic. There are not many like him, and you had better believe that Rams coach Sean McVay will be telling his staff that Ramsey has to be on Evans all game long. Against anyone else, Evans would dominate and burn this very depleted Los Angeles secondary.

For Tampa Bay this week, we have Mike Evans O/U 67.5 receiving yards to analyze and make a prediction. To me, this one is pretty simple. Evans, while he did have over 1,000 yards on the season, was more of a red zone touchdown target than he was a deep threat down the field. The Rams' secondary is a disaster at the moment, but you can count on them having Ramsey on Evans for a majority of this game, blanketing him in coverage.

That leads me to believe Arians and the Bucs will look to exploit the rest of this secondary with Rob Gronkowski quite frequently and look to hurt them elsewhere. I would go under 67.5 yards receiving for Evans for these reasons this weekend, but make sure to keep an eye on injury updates and any new information that comes out that could influence this pick.
