Week 5 NFL Best Bets

Dan Karpuc: Dallas Goedert Over 44.5 Rec. Yds at Cardinals
If you’re a fantasy football or DFS veteran, you know that targeting tight ends against the Cardinals in the Kliff Kingsbury Era has been very profitable. This season is no exception. The Cardinals have funneled targets to opposing tight ends, allowing 85.3 yards per game to the position, the second-highest mark in the NFL. Enter Philadelphia’s Dallas Goedert, who has been a consistent part of the Eagles’ passing attack so far. He’s racked up 60, 82, 26 and 72 yards in four games and has notably recorded numerous long receptions with a high of 27, 24, 23 and 26 in those contests, respectively. Catching 16 of 20 targets, it’s clear that Goedert and Jalen Hurts have a solid connection and that should be on full display against Arizona. BetQL projects Goedert to catch four passes for 60 yards, thus easily surpassing the 44.5-yard mark. Read more about this and three other NFL player prop values that stand out this week.

Lucy Burdge: Lions +3 at Patriots
I think the Lions are going to keep this one close and cover this spread against the Patriots. Some trends that very much favor them to cover are that Dan Campbell is 8-0 ATS in his career after allowing 175 or more rushing yards in the previous last game, and 6-0 after an ATS loss while coaching Detroit. The Lions are 3-1 ATS and the Patriots are 1-2-1 ATS, and I think the Lions will get back to being a spread-covering machine against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

Brad Pinkerton: Cowboys +5.5 at Rams

The Cowboys continue to make it work with Dak Prescott (thumb) out. Dallas has covered in all three of Cooper Rush's starts, including two outright wins as 'dogs, giving Rush a perfect 3-0 SU record. Now the Cowboys get to face a struggling Rams team that is 1-3 ATS, thanks in part to averaging just 17.5 points per game. I'd much rather wait and see if this gets to Cowboys +6, but I will settle for +5.5 if that's the best it gets. After all, the Cowboys have covered their last seven NFC road games dating back to last season.
