NFC Championship: Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers History, Odds, And Prop Bets

There are two NFC teams remaining in this year’s NFL playoffs and they’re led by Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers will face off in the NFC championship game with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Because of weird circumstances (playing in opposite conferences, injuries), the two have met only a handful of times throughout their long careers. And never before in the playoffs.

The Buccaneers are 3-point underdogs going into this game at FanDuel Sportsbook, which will be only the fourth time Brady and Rodgers have faced each other as starters in their careers. Brady is 2-1 both straight-up and against the spread in those first three matchups, despite being the favorite in only one of them.

Rodgers is looking to make sure Brady does not make it a step closer to winning his sixth Super Bowl, while Brady is trying to keep Rodgers from getting to the big game for just the second time. The Packers are the favorites to win the Super Bowl at +210 as of Wednesday, while the Buccaneers have the longest odds at +430.

Nov. 30, 2014: Packers (-3) 26, Patriots 21

The Packers were 3-point favorites in this one and came away with the win after holding off the New England Patriots at Lambeau Field. Brady passed for 245 yards and two touchdowns, with Rodgers racking up 368 passing yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Nov. 4, 2018: Patriots (-5) 31, Packers 17

The Patriots were 5-point favorites and got the win over the Packers at Gillette Stadium. This loss landed the Packers at 0-4 on the road at that point in the season. This game was tied 17-17 going into the fourth quarter before New England took off with 14 unanswered points. Brady threw for 294 yards and one touchdown, while Rodgers finished with 259 yards and two touchdowns.

Oct. 18, 2020: Buccaneers 38, Packers (-3) 10

Just this past season, Rodgers went up against Brady in their first meeting since the former Patriot joined the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay stomped all over Green Bay. The Packers entered this game as 3-point favorites and finished with a 28-point loss.

The Buccaneers scored 28 of their points in the second quarter, while the Packers scored all 10 of theirs within the first 15 minutes. Brady threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns, while Rodgers ended up with 160 yards and zero touchdowns.

Neither quarterback topped 170 yards in the first matchup. Expect both Rodgers and Brady to have better outings on Sunday in what should be a much more competitive game.
