COVID issues within the Packers organization are causing some serious line movement for Thursday night when the Packers head to Arizona.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur told reporters the team is in advanced COVID-19 protocols because of a potential spread related to defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s positive COVID-19 test. All meetings are virtual and players are wearing masks. It also happens to be a short week, so any positive test knocks a player or coach out of the game.
One of those names is Davante Adams, who was added to the reserve/COVID list and will likely miss Thursday’s game.
The Cardinals are now -6, with the spread nearly doubling since the news broke. Early projections from BetQL had the under 52.5 as a three-star bet, but the total dropped to 50.5 on the Packers' COVID news. Watch closely to see how any news from the Packers affects these odds this week.
Obviously, this becomes a very difficult situation to predict, making a lot of plays a waiting game at best.
Aaron Rodgers has had success without Adams to throw to though. In his last six games without Adams he's 142 for 202 passing, with 1,865 yards, 17 TDs, 1 INT, a 125.2 passer rating and he's won all six games. 6-0.
Sure it's a bad situation for Green Bay, but it's still a winnable game for sure.
