First And Second Half Moneylines

Consistency isn't an issue for either of these teams. They have both lost with regularity in 2020 and display the essence of what the NFC East represents. The New York Giants finally pulled one out, defeating the lowly Washington Football Team 20-19. The Philadelphia Eagles were very competitive in the second half against the Baltimore Ravens, but ultimately lost 28-30.

Moneyline wagers have been scrolled by all season. Bettors have likely avoided the two at all costs, but this week represents an opportunity. When it comes to first half lines, the Giants have trailed at halftime in 5-of-6 games. Their recent win over the Football Team was the lone time they were ahead at half. On the other hand, the Eagles have had a first half lead in 3-of-6 games. This represents quite a discrepancy.

ATS Trends

The Eagles successfully covered a 10-point spread against the Baltimore Ravens last week. This marks the second time in three games that Philadelphia has covered. In Week 4, the Eagles easily covered when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers. This leaves Philadelphia with a 33.3 percent rate to cover ATS through six games this season, but the recent streak should be noted with a -3.5 line against New York in Week 7.

The Giants came up just short of covering for the third-consecutive match in Week 6 against the Washington Football Team. With a -1.5 line, the 20-19 Giants' win just missed. This puts New York at 3-3 ATS in 2020. They'll have the luxury of facing an Eagles offense that just lost Zach Ertz and may be without Miles Sanders.

Over/Under Trends

The Eagles have consistently seen over/under lines at less than 50 points each week. Despite averaging just 23.5 points per game in 2020, Philadelphia has hit the over in 4-of-6 games. With no-name receivers running around for Carson Wentz, this is somewhat surprising, even with lower over/under totals. However, they face a New York offense that's averaging 16.8 points per game this season. This explains the over/under line of 44 total points ahead of their Week 7 meetup.

The under has hit in 4-of-6 New York contests this season. Their offensive output was mentioned above, but that mark is skewed due to their surge against the Dallas Cowboys (34 points). If we remove that game, the New York offense has averaged just 13.4 points over the remaining five completed games in 2020. It's understandable with Saquon Barkley out of the picture, but Daniel Jones' struggles are another thing. The young quarterback has failed to throw for more than 279 yards in a game this season and has logged an interception in 5-of-6 games. The offensive line has their own issues, as Jones has been sacked 17 times.

Overall, these offenses struggle, which is exactly why oddsmakers set their over/under line at a low mark of 44 total points.
