Over the course of his 10-year NFL career, LeSean McCoy has amassed 10,606 rushing yards, 69 rushing touchdowns, 3,616 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. That’s the resume of a Hall of Famer.
But after averaging a career-low 3.2 YPC for 514 yards in 14 games for the Buffalo Bills last year, the team cut him on Saturday.
A couple of years ago, that would have seemed preposterous, but it’s clear that the wear and tear he’s accumulated over the years might be finally making a negative impact.
Mere hours later, the Kansas City Chiefs (and former head coach Andy Reid) came calling.
Former #Bills RB LeSean McCoy has found a new home. He’s headed to Kansas City to sign with the #Chiefs, source said. He got a 1-year deal worth $3M. It can be worth $4M in incentives.

Behind Damien Williams, Darrel Williams is McCoy’s main competition for carries in a backup role. It’ll be fascinating to see what comes out of the reunion between McCoy and Reid.
The Chiefs open the season as -3.5 road favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
