Best NFL Player Prop Bets For Week 5

With several intriguing NFL matchups set to take place this week, BetMGM's Colton Pool has identified a few favorable player props on the BetMGM Sportsbook that you should consider.

Justin Fields Over 165.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. ET

Bears quarterback Justin Fields has not produced a great number of passing yards in recent weeks. But that’s in large part because of volume, which is trending in the right direction.

Fields’ pass attempts have gone up from 11 in Week 2, to 17 in Week 3, to 22 in Week 4, leading to him finally going over this total for the first time in Chicago’s most recent game against the Giants. As great as the Bears have been running the ball, they’re realizing they need to be more balanced.

Fields is also sixth in both average intended air yards and average completed air yards. That means whenever he does throw, he pushes it deep downfield and maximizes his yardage possibilities.

The Vikings are also 20th in pass defense DVOA, so this would be a good week for Fields to find a rhythm through the air.

Demario Davis Over 5.5 Tackles (-115)

Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. ET

Saints linebacker Demario Davis will have plenty of chances to make tackles in this game.

Davis averages six tackles per game and hasn’t totaled less than five in any of his four outings. He accumulated a season-high eight tackles in New Orleans’ loss to the Vikings in London last week.

And the Seahawks have enjoyed plenty of success on the ground recently. They ran for 235 yards as a team last week against Detroit. Their rushing attempts have increased from 14 in Week 2, to 23 in Week 3, to 33 in Week 4.

If the Seahawks continue to lean on the ground game, Davis will be in charge of ending a high number of plays with a tackle.

Cam Akers Under 42.5 Rush Yards (-115)

Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. ET

After going over this total in two consecutive weeks, Rams running back Cam Akers rushed for just 13 yards on eight carries in Week 4.

No matter who is successful, the Rams are still splitting carries between Akers and Darrell Henderson, who had just one less carry than Akers last week. That means Akers’ volume is limited.

The Cowboys haven’t been stellar while trying to stop the run, ranking 25th in rush defense DVOA. But with linebacker Micah Parsons lining up all over the defense, I bet this front seven performs well against the Rams’ offensive line.

The Rams are 19th in rush offense DVOA and 23rd in adjusted line yards. I’m predicting the Cowboys will win in this aspect of the game.
