Young QB Matchup Looming?

Justin Fields versus Jordan Love could be the matchup this Sunday, in what forecasts as the future of one of the NFL's greatest rivalries.

Over the last 30 years, there is no question who has been the better team. Green Bay has dominated the matchup ever since Brett Favre got his shot, and continued with another Hall of Fame QB in Aaron Rodgers. For the Packers to have back-to-back generational talents at the position is astounding, and perhaps even more perplexing is the inability for the Bears to find one of them in their 100+ years of history. For many fans in Chicago, the disappointment of letting such a great battle fade to black was a slow but steady process since 1993, but the reality has set in that Rodgers ended it.

However, that doesn't mean that a spark can't be renewed when these two teams get together with two QB's that can refresh everything we know. Since their Week 2 loss to Green Bay, the Bears have turned into an entirely different team. Justin Fields has taken a huge step forward in his development, and he's been one of the most electric players in the NFL since their match against the Patriots in mid-October. He broke the single game rushing record for a QB with 174 yards a couple of weeks ago and his improvement in the offense has led to the Bears averaging 30 points per game since he was injured a few weeks ago against the Falcons. He missed the team's last game against the Jets, but could be in line to start this game.

This has been Rodgers' worst season in recent memory. Green Bay's record hasn't solely been his fault, but he has also looked like he is getting close to the end. The star QB was injured in their last game against Philadelphia, which meant that former first-round selection Jordan Love got his chance. Love looked great in his short time in the game, leading the Packers to multiple scoring drives, but ultimately came up short. Rodgers is questionable for this matchup, but if he sits, we could get a look at Love starting for the first time against the Bears.
