Watt’s move did impact the betting market, as Arizona’s Super Bowl odds shortened from 45-1 to 30-1 at PointsBet Sportsbook.

“The Cardinals' Super Bowl odds immediately saw a positive shift from 45-1 into 30-1,” said Patrick Eichner, PointsBet’s Director of Communications. “We all know they have the weapons on offense -- some defensive firepower should be a huge help.”

Watt going to Arizona reunites him with former Houston Texans teammate DeAndre Hopkins.

The long-time Texan signing with the Cardinals wasn’t a trendy pick among football fans or sportsbooks.

“A bit of a surprise with J.J. Watt joining the Cardinals,” Eichner said. “We had 12 options available to bet on for his next team -- Arizona wasn't even on the board!”

Eichner also said they are still working on odds for the Cardinals to win the conference and NFC West, and that they would be up shortly.

So, was the big shift in odds justified? Or is it just an overreaction to a big name changing teams? Only time will tell.
