Dallas Cowboys vsWashington Commanders Prediction

The Dallas Cowboys are a solid favorite with a 63% chance to beat the Washington. Ezekiel Elliott is projected for 74 rushing yards and a 49% chance of having at least 1 rushing TD. In the 37% of simulations where Washington wins, Kyle Allen averages 1.36 TD passes vs 0.46 interceptions, while in losses he has a ratio of 1.11 TDs to 0.89 interceptions. Antonio Gibson averages 125 rushing yards and 1.66 rushing TDs when Washington wins and 65 yards and 0.71 TDs in losses. The Dallas Cowboys has a 47% chance of forcing more turnovers than they commit. Positive turnover margin helps them win 85% of the time.

Washington Commanders Preview

This season has been a painful one for Cowboys fans. Entering the season with high expectations once again, the team faltered out of the game to a 1-3 record. With a light schedule coming up, and the skill players on offense to score 40 points a week, the season wasn’t lost. However, when Dak Prescott went down with a season-ending injury against the Giants in Week 5, the team had to look for answers.

They entered Andy Dalton into the quarterback position, and they expected him to seamlessly adapt with the talent around him. In their Monday night loss to the Cardinals, Dalton wasn’t at his best. Dalton completed 34 of his 54 pass attempts for 266 yards and a touchdown, but his two interceptions cost the team in a big way. He had little to no pass protection all game, so his mistakes aren’t entirely his.

He wasn’t helped by the supposed heart and soul of the team, Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott is in the midst of a stretch where he can’t hold onto the football. In the first half of their game against Arizona, Elliot fumbled twice to give the Cardinals the ball in plus territory. With a defense that hasn’t shown the ability to stop anyone this season, this was a recipe for disaster, and the Cowboys eventually were blown out of their own arena, 38-10.

However, the team is still somehow in first place in the NFC East with a 2-4 record. Besides that sobering fact, they don’t have much to hang their hat on. The defense has not stopped anyone all season, the injuries are piling up on the offensive side of the ball, and the players are starting to point fingers at the coaching staff. With games against the Football Team and the Eagles before the team hits their bye week, the Cowboys could still somehow right the ship and get to 4-4.

Dallas Cowboys Preview

The Washington Football Team lost a heartbreaker this past week. Down 20-13 to the New York Giants, quarterback Kyle Allen led the team on a spirited drive to score the potential tying touchdown. Coach Ron Rivera decided to go for the win with a 2-point conversion attempt, but ultimately failed in their 20-19 loss. While the decision to go for the win will be questioned by some, I believe it was the right move in the scheme of things. It shows that he believes in his team, and overtime has proven to be dicey for all involved.

Washington now sits at 1-5, but because of the ineptitude of the NFC East, they’re only a game out of first place. Yes, it’s that bad of a division. While the team has to figure out the quarterback situation going forward, there are some young and promising pieces on this offense. Second-year receiver Terry McLaurin is proving to be a future star in this league. Facing tough coverage from James Bradbery of the Giants, McLaurin still found holes in the defense, and finished with seven receptions for 74 yards. He’s struggled to find the endzone this season, securing only one touchdown, but much of the blame can be placed on who’s throwing him the ball, not him.

Running back Antonio Gibson looks to be a solid piece in this offense going forward. The rookie from Memphis has struggled to find holes behind a patchwork offensive line, but he’s making the most of his opportunities. Defensively, they have a good defensive line, but the team needs work on the backend.

This season was not expected to be one where Washington contends for a division crown, and in a normal season, they wouldn’t be with their play. However, they have a home game against the Dallas Cowboys this week, who happen to be leading this pitiful division. With a win, they would leapfrog the Cowboys in the division, and suddenly would have the potential to win the NFC East going forward. It remains to be seen if they can put together a full 60 minutes and win a game this Sunday.

Full Game Prediction

This game has surprising NFC East implications the rest of the way. With a win, the Cowboys would right the ship a bit and try to build momentum before their bye week. With a loss, the damage could prove to be too much, and the season could spiral out of control. For Washington, this is an opportunity to prove that while not a great team, they can compete in this bad division. It will come down to whether the Cowboys can finally cut down on their mistakes, as their turnover margin is the worst in the NFL.

Even after their embarrassing home loss, the Cowboys enter this game as 1.5 point road favorites. Subscribe to BetQL to get our model’s Cowboys at. Football Team prediction and see all the data we have on the game.
