The 2020 Workday Charity Open will tee off at Muirfield Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio on Thursday morning. Featuring long, wide fairways, the par-72 course features 10 par-4s, four par-3s and four par-5s. The field contains many top-ranked PGA golfers, including Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Hideki Matsuyama and Justin Rose, among others. Let’s take a look at some of the best bets, DFS plays and a sleeper to target for this event. Note: the following odds are listed on MGM and prices are listed on DraftKings. All statistics can be found on PGA.com. Fire ratings are directly from RotoQL.

The Defending Champ: Patrick Cantlay (+1500 | $10,600)

As the defending champion and fourth-place finisher from 2018, Cantlay will be a popular bet to win this event and very chalky in both GPPs and Cash Games from a DFS perspective. Ranking 5th in SG: Approach The Green, 5th in SG: Total and 7th in SG: Tee-To-Green, his 73.15% GIR (4th) and 4.83 Birdies Per Round (3rd) indicate that he should be in the mix yet again this year. Now 8th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Cantlay is coming off a T-11 at the Travelers Championship, where he finished with a final round 65. That momentum should carry over into this event, where he is expected to contend. While any golfer can be a GPP fade, Cantlay might be the highest-owned cash game play of the week (and for good reason). Best Bet: +300 to finish in Top 5. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Home Sweet Home: Justin Rose (+2500 | $9,700)

Rose absolutely loves Muirfield Village. He won there in 2010 and has logged seven Top 10 finishes, including two second-place performances and is currently the 2nd-highest all-time earner there. Before missing the cut at the Travelers Championship due to an ugly 2nd Round last week, Rose finished T-14 at the RBC Heritage (-16) after finishing T-3 at the Charles Schwab Challenge (-14) in his first post-restart tournament. Last year, he shot a 63 in the 2nd Round at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield, the best individual round of the whole event. Best Bet: +2500 to win 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Boom Or Bust: Marc Leishman (+4000 | $8,700)

While his putter has a tendency to let him down, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Leishman leads the Tour in SG: Approach The Green, which should come in very handy at Muirfield. He didn’t take advantage after making the cut at the Travelers Championship last week, but he has two fifth-place finishes within his four top 15s at this course. With five career PGA Tour victories to his name, Leishman has a proven ability to use momentum. If he gets off to a hot start, expect him to be in the conversation on Sunday. Best Bet: +400 to finish in the Top 10. 🔥🔥🔥

Statistical Darling: Bubba Watson (+5000 | $8,000)

As noted above, the ability to handle a plethora of par-4s is going to be key at this course. Watson averages 3.908 strokes on Par-4s Between 450-500 yards, which ranks second in the entire PGA Tour. Watson averages 313.4 yards per drive (7th), but holds a 59.08% Driving Accuracy mark (142nd). That clear deficiency won’t make much of a difference at this course due to the wide, long fairways. Watson’s 70.23 per-round scoring average (26th) makes him an appealing DFS GPP play at what will be low ownership following two-straight missed cuts. In 2018, Watson finished 44th, but the year before, he finished 6th at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield. He also finished 3rd at this course in 2014 and will have mid-60s upside in every round. Best Bet: +5500 to be leader after 1st Round. 🔥🔥🔥

Deep Sleeper: Russell Knox (+20000 | $6,600)

After making it to the weekend in nine straight tournaments from October 3rd, 2019 to February 2nd, 2020, Knox has missed the cut eight consecutive times. Therefore, he’s in the worst form of his career. I love Knox as a golfer to bet on and roster in DFS tournaments this week. Not only has he made the cut in each of his five starts at Muirfield Village, he finished T-27 at the course last year. He will be virtually unowned in most DFS tournaments this week, including DraftKings’ Millionaire Maker. Best Bet: +650 to finish in the Top 20. 🔥
