The coronavirus pandemic has overtaken the U.S. sports scene. First and foremost, we hope all of you stay safe. We also realize that you may be interested in making some new bets now that there are no live sports occurring on a daily basis with the exception of NASCAR, which will race this weekend, and UFC, which will fight in an empty arena in Brazil. With that being said, here’s another option: Russian Premier League Soccer. Let’s get into three best bets for Saturday’s slate, per FanDuel’s odds (as of Friday morning).

Spartak Moscow (7-10-4) at FC Orenburg (6-10-5)

Spartak win (+120), Orenburg win (+210), draw (+210), 7:00am EST

Although Spartak Moscow dropped their last decision to FC Krasnodar 1-0, they entered that match having won five in a row. Spartak has a large payroll and has been in solid form lately, despite their shutout loss last time out. Orenburg has gone 5-6-4 over their last 15 matches and has been difficult to read all season long. Since both clubs haven’t shown an ability to produce goals consistently and have been relatively sound defensively for most of the season, a draw is a solid bet in this matchup. BEST BET: TIE (+210)

FC Ural (6-8-7) at Zenit St. Petersburg (14-2-5)

Ural win (+1100), Zenit win (-440), draw (+410), 9:30am EST

Zenit is the best team in the Russian Premier League and it hasn’t been close. They have a +28 goal differential (37 goals for, nine goals against), which is one of two teams that has a differential better than +7 (out of 16 clubs). That’s right… in 21 matches, they’ve allowed nine goals. There’s not much upside in the bet, but Zenit is the huge favorite for a reason. BEST BET: ZENIT (-440)

Ruban Kazan (4-9-8) at Arsenal Tula (8-9-4)

Ruban win (+220), Arsenal win (+130), draw (+190), 12:00pm EST

Through 21 games, Ruban Kazan has produced a Russian Premier League-low 11 goals and has a -11 goal differential (2nd-worst) as they find themselves in 15th place out of 16 teams in the standings. Meanwhile, Arsenal Tula is in 6th place in the standings and has a -1 goal differential, having netted 25 goals at this point. Arsenal is favored at home and based on the form of both squads, they’re the better bet. BEST BET: ARSENAL TULA (+130)
