Alabama Basketball Is Set To Make A Major Statement

After last year's great campaign, Alabama basketball is set to make another run at an NCAA Tournament Championship. Can they finally shake off that football school label?

  • Last year proved to many that Alabama was no longer just a football school, and that the Crimson Tide has what it took to win a basketball championship as well.

  • They will return their top scorer's from last season, while maintaining most of their roster, and will reload in 2022 instead of rebuild. This bodes well for their success in the near future.

  • Per DraftKings, Bama has +2000 odds to win the 2021-2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.

Alabama Set To Reload, Not Rebuild

After winning the SEC regular season and the SEC Tournament last season, the Crimson Tide are set to reload in 2021. Getting back their top two scorers from last season in Jaden Shackelford and Jahvon Quinerly will help keep that consistency and veteran presence you need, but Nate Oats has also accumulated real depth as well for this basketball team.

Five-star point guard J.D. Davison and transfer guard Nimari Burnett factor in as day-one contributors, and will just add two more rounds in the chamber for this team.

Alabama will be dangerous scoring the basketball, that much is clear. Last season, they had one of the best scoring offenses in the country, and they will probably be even better this season. Now that is a scary thought. No longer should they be considered a football school.

They are just a school, and one that is very, very good at athletics.

At These Odds, Alabama Is Valuable

The Crimson Tide will be back in full force this upcoming season, and at a very juicy number of 20/1 odds, betting on them is a no-brainer for me. Their offense can compete with literally any team in the country, even Gonzaga, and I just don't see how opposing teams are going to stop them from scoring at will.

Their best hope will be taking advantage of Alabama's defense, but that still won't be entirely easy. This is one of my favorite teams that is considered a contender with some real value here.
