Dan Karpuc: Kent State +15 at Gonzaga
There’s a small college hoops slate on Monday and I think this is clearly the best bet. Let’s start with Kent State, who is 6-2 SU and 7-0 ATS this season. Those two losses: 74-72 to Charleston and 49-44 to No. 1 Houston. Per KenPom.com, Kent State has also been the 21st unluckiest team out of 363 Division I schools so far despite their solid SU record and perfect ATS record. Meanwhile, Gonzaga hasn’t looked great out of the gates. Sure, they’ve gone 5-3 SU, but they’ve gone just 2-6 ATS and escaped with narrow wins against Michigan State (64-63) and Xavier (88-84). While Gonzaga (and most notably Drew Timme) will have a clear size advantage and should be able to control the glass, Kent State’s ability to force turnovers could come in very handy. The Golden Flashes have forced 19.9 turnovers per contest (fifth-most in NCAA), while the Zags rank 291st by turning the ball over 14.9 times per game. Don’t be shocked if Kent State gives Gonzaga a major scare, especially if senior guard Sincere Carry (18.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 rebounds in 35.4 minutes per game) gets hot.

Lucy Burdge: Kent State +15
Kent State is 7-0 ATS this season and I think they’ll make it eight in a row against Gonzaga, which has failed to cover in four straight.

Kate Constable: Troy at San Diego State Over 137.5
Troy is an interesting team this year because if you look at KenPom ratings, they’re expected to finish the season near the bottom of the Sun Belt Conference. But they’ve beaten Florida State and led Arkansas at the half. While I don’t think they’re going to win this game, I do think they can put up plenty of points. The Trojans are averaging 81.7 points per game, which is good for 39th in the country. San Diego State is also a team that knows how to score, averaging 79.8 points on the season. They’re also coming off a game in which they put up 95. This should be a high-scoring affair tonight in San Diego, so I’m taking the over.
