Today's College Basketball Best Bets

Brad Pinkerton: Arizona-San Diego State Over 162 & Arkansas-Creighton Under 142.5
We have two great matchups in the Maui Invitational today with No. 10 Creighton facing No. 9 Arkansas in the early game (8 p.m. ET) and No. 17 San Diego State taking on No. 14 Arizona in the late game (10:30 p.m. ET). All four teams here are undefeated and these games are toss-ups to me (the BetQL model has a clear favorite on the moneyline in each game, though, so be sure to check it out with a free trial), so I'm going to focus on the totals instead. The under has hit in all four of Arkansas' games, thanks to intense defense and a methodical offense; Creighton is 3-2 O/U, and this number is right around the totals they've been seeing, so I expect Arkansas to dictate the pace and hit another under here. As for Arizona vs. San Diego State, buckle up. These two are a combined 7-1 O/U with Arizona averaging 104.3 points per game (not a typo) and San Diego State averaging 81 ppg. While 162 is a big number in college hoops, it's right around what Arizona has been seeing and these two can combine to hit the over in what should be a fast-paced shootout.

Dan Karpuc: Yale -2.5 vs. Vermont
Yale (5-0) is off to their best start since the 1945-1946 season with wins over Sarah Lawrence (96-41), Eastern Washington (74-60), Mississippi Valley State (80-51), Hawaii (62-59) and John Jay (112-55). Meanwhile, Vermont (1-4) is on a four-game losing streak. After beating Brown (80-65) in their opener, they’ve lost to Saint Mary’s (79-53), Cal State Fullerton (94-85), USC (59-57) and Iona (71-50). Yale has outscored their opponents by 31.6 points per game (fifth in the nation) and also ranks 10th in field-goal percentage defense (32.9%), 12th in assists (19.8 per game) and 14th in rebounding margin (+12.6). Expect Yale forward Matt Knowling (19.8 points in 24.2 minutes per contest) to be the best player on the floor and for the Bulldogs to cruise to the home victory.
