We had a nice little 3-0 sweep in our college basketball bets Thursday, so let's see if we can keep it rolling today!
One trend to note is that the BetQL model is crushing college hoops spread bets, going 488-393 (56%) on all spread picks rated ⭐⭐ and higher since the start of the season, for a total return of $5,065 on $100 bets! Record-wise, Fordham (9-1) has the edge over Binghamton (3-6), and the Rams have the edge in nearly every statistical category too. They are a much stronger defensive team than the Bearcats, giving up 66.3 points compared to Binghamton’s 73.3. Fordham is the better shooting team and is great at getting to the line and knocking down free throws. They also have the edge in blocks and steals, which will be key because the Bearcats are very turnover-prone. Binghamton is also just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games, and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. There is just no other way for me to look at this game other than backing the Rams.
My pick: Fordham -12.5
If you look at both these teams' schedules, neither has really been tested yet. That being said, Air Force has taken care of business at home, which is where they'll meet the Red Wolves tonight. Head coach Joe Scott and the Falcons have won each of their last five home games with three of those wins coming by at least 21 points. In terms of scoring, field-goal percentages and rebounds, these two teams are nearly identical. But where I expect the Falcons to excel in this game is on the defensive side of the ball. They are No. 5 in the nation in 3-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 24%. The Red Wolves aren't a very good 3-point shooting team to begin with, which means they'll have to do a lot of their scoring inside. If that's the case, all Air Force has to do is send Arkansas State to the free-throw line, where they're making just 63% of their attempts. Points could come at a premium tonight for the Red Wolves so I'll lay the points with the Falcons.
My pick: Air Force -6
This is the largest total on the board today at 154, so we're going to take a shot at the over. The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights are averaging 80.6 points per game and have scored in the 90s on three different occasions this season. They also have a very balanced attack with four players averaging at least 14.0 points per game. While Columbia doesn't score at quite as high of a rate, they're giving up over 71.0 points per game and have an adjusted defensive efficiency of 109.2, ranking 320th. Both teams also play at a pretty fast pace, which should allow for plenty of points.
My pick: Fairleigh Dickinson at Columbia Over 154
